Tensions Grow Over DNA Paternity Kits
AUCKLAND, New Zealand – September 24, 2010 – This is Croydon Today’s Anna Edwards and Rachel Bayne report on local pharmacies stocking new over-the-counter paternity testing kits.
Dads worried that they may not be their children’s real fathers no longer need to resort to appearing on The Jeremy Kyle Show to find out the truth – as four Croydon pharmacies have started selling DNA kits over the counter.
Barkers Chemist, in Church Street, Croydon; Goldmantle Pharmacy, in Featherbed Lane, Forestdale; The Parade Pharmacy, in Thornton Road, Croydon; and McCoig Pharmacy, in Wickham Road, Shirley, which are part of the Medipharmacy Group, started selling the kits this week.
Until now over the counter sales were limited to a small number of pharmacies in central London.
